Aquarium Heater Branded
Will my 100 watt aquarium heater require a guard?
I'm setting up a 20 gallon tank for African cichlids. The heater is brand new and looks pretty safe(Not that i can really tell by looks but it's my gut feeling) one problem is the heater has a small gap between it and the wall so I'm afraid of fish getting wedged. The tank is being heated to 78ºF and has adequate hiding and swimming spots. Thanks!
You only need a guard if you keep the larger fish, You do risk a danger of breakage especially with a gap between it and the wall of the tank. African cichlids depending on their size and species and total put in the tank could break a heater if they bumped into it.
